My sweet baby girl, who really isn’t a baby anymore. I love the lines of this dress and I’d love to make it to add to her collection because she’s just growing out of her current size and we’re needing new clothes so she’s not running about in the buff this winter!

I would sew this adorable pattern up for my new neice, who is not quite 2 months old. My children are practically grown and my brother (who is only 14 mos younger than I) and his wife finally decided to have a child! My FIRST AND ONLY NEICE! Woohoo! I adore simple, classic clothing for children sewn up in bright, fun fabrics. This pattern fits the bill! I hope I win!

I would make this for my daughter. I just started sewing and she is so sweet about loving anything I made for her. I think this dress is a-dor-a-ble.

The cover story is that I want to make this beautiful dress for my daughter. The truth is that I want to make this elegant dress, with all it’s adorable details and chic lines, for myself ;) Ok, I know it will involve a little (loads of) work, and some upsizing (total redrawing), but what a dress!

I can’t tell you how much I’m dying to buy this pattern and make this dress. I’ve been dreaming about it. Seriously. But I have a son, not a daughter. I asked my husband if this dress pattern was good enough reason to adopt another child. He said no. If I won the pattern and fabric, I would make the dress for my bestie, who is adopting another child (our boys are both from Ethiopia) — a girl this time. Or maybe I’d just keep the dress and hang it up on the wall.

After several years of spotty contact due to work/school/other commitments, a family health scare was the push I needed to start reconnecting with my extended family. One of the best parts of this has been meeting my cousin’s young daughter. Not only is she fantastic, but now I have somewhere to channel my desire to make tiny things for tiny people! She’s already the recipient of several knit pieces, and I’m hoping to start adding sewn projects this season.
I love that the School Photo Dress is stylish enough for her mom to love it, but still has great little details for her, like pockets! Too cute.

I live next door to a very charming and funny little girl named Piper, who is 2 1/2 years old, and is becoming a real buddy for me. I never had kids, but her parents are really sweet about “letting” me make dresses, and aprons for Piper, which she wears while making Snickerdoodles with her Dad, Paul, who is the cook in the family. But, the real reason that sweet little dress would be perfect for Piper, is that she has two big dogs, who are always stealing her crackers from her, and those little front pockets would be perfect for just slipping the little crackers right in there, and no big dog noses could push their way in there for snacks! And she loves dresses, and I know she has the cutest little patten leather shoes to wear with dress!

I would love to make this pattern for my daughter. She has a wonderful sense of style, and at 3 years old, loves to style her own wardrobe. This would be a great addition to her RTW and sewn wardrobe. I love the fact that this look has pockets. My daughter will love using the pockets, and practicing her model walk and posing. Pair the pattern with tights, and a great hat, and she will be ready for fall.

I would make it for my 14 month old daughter!

My 5 year old daughter – cute and always has treasures that need stowing like the pattern model, who now also has shoulder length hair like the pattern model because she was pretending to be Rapunzel and cut her waist length hair. (Scissor privileges were revoked).

she has recently had a baby boy and is having a late shower next month and i think her daughter should not be left out when the baby is receiving the presents.

I’d be sewing this for my daughter, who will be three at the end of November, and starting at the school nursery after Christmas. She’s extra-special, as we were 10 years married and had been told we would never have children when she arrived!
She’s not a girly-girl in her behaviour, but loves to look beautiful, so a dress like this which gives her the freedom to be a frog, or a crocodile, or climb like a monkey while still looking lovely…. Well, it would be perfect!

I wish I could say that I would be generous and make this as a gift for my one of my sister’s little adorable girls(ages 2 1/2 — she insists on the half — and 1), but I’ll be honest. I’m going to make it for MY little baby girl first, even though I’m not even due until the end of January! (I’ll maybe still make her a dress out of the pattern, but save the cute fabric for me.)
I just visited home this last weekend and was going through my old baby things with my other, looking for things that could be passed down to my little girl. My mom’s a wonderful seamstress (she made my wedding dress) but there was sadly not much in the way of little-girl clothing that was not indelibly ’80s and dated. But a dress like this would be a real classic, timeless keepsake that could be passed on to my grandbabies, in time.

I would also make this for my daughter, and have adored this pattern since I first saw it! Why? DD is the quintessential princess, dreaming of pigtails and pink and satin and sequins. All the while, I keep bobbing her hair and cutting bangs and aspiring to classic 1920s girl’s style. I may have to search for pink tweed to make this dress (and line it in satin, of course!).

I will sew this for the best dressed little girl in the 2ND grade at her school. She just happens to be my granddaughter and my heart. I have sewed for her since before she was born as I also did for her mother. What fun I am having. Our Princess loves dresses and pockets, so this pattern is perfect. Just recently, this very smart little 7 year old asked Grandma if she could learn how to sew. Needless to say I am in hog heaven everytime we have a class.

I would make my beautiful tiny niece this little dress for Christmas (every girl needs a Christmas party dress right?). Her and her mummy and daddy are living overseas at the moment and we miss them all so much! Thanks also to Oliver+S for supporting this give-away!

I would make this for my 3-year-old daughter. She loves dresses and would rather wear a dress than anything else!! And it’s so darn cute that I’m sure I’d have to make more than one.

I have a 7 year old niece, who’s extremely bright and sweet, who I’d make this dress for. Her mom just told me that the only pjs she wears are the ones I made for her. How can I resist that?

I love all the new patterns and the new fabrics from Oliver and S! My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I really want to make this dress for her. I really love the retro feel of all of Oliver and S’s patterns but the school photo dress is one of the patterns that captures it best. It would be perfect for her special day.

I’d make it for my daughter (age 3). At least, I’d add it to the top of the pile of things that I’d like to make for her. On the upside, if this dress bumps some of the other things off the list, we’ve got another kid on the way!!

I don’t have a daughter, but I would love to sew this dress for my friends’ daughters! They are all in the same age as my son, 7 years old, and they love to dress in coordinates :)

I would make this for my adorable niece! I love the simplicity of this dress. The pockets are a bonus and every kid loves hidden pockets, especially kangaroo pockets.

I’d make it for my 5 year old daughter! though I could wish it were for me :) I just love Oliver + S patterns, they have such beautiful, simple lines and the pattern instructions are a dream to follow. This particular one looks really neat with those pockets on the front – my daughter is VERY into pockets to store the random collections of small things she likes to tote around.

I would definitely make this for my daughter! I’ve been making a few Oliver & S outfits for her for our Australian summer and I don’t have this one.

I wish I could say I would be making if for my 6 year old daughter, but apparently I’m not cool enough anymore – except when it comes to making gifts for her friends! So, I would love to make it for my 3 year old, over whom I still have the tiniest amount of influence!

Even though I have an almost two-year-old daughter that I love to sew for, I would make this dress for my niece, Juliet. She has 3 brothers at home (two older and one younger) so she gets a lot of hand-me-downs…BOY hand-me-downs. My sister and her family don’t exactly have a lot of money these days, so they tend to make due with what they’ve got. A great lesson to be learned, for sure, but still hard for a little girly girl to grow-up in her big brothers clothes! She would be especially sweet in this cute little dress. I’d even use this pattern and fabric to give my sister a sewing lesson, since she’s been asking me for years.

I plan to make this for my darling almost 6 year-old daughter. She loves pockets and secret pockets will make her even happier – though I will have to be sure to check them before washing. We’ve had a few mishaps with that – rocks, money, the dreaded crayon and lipstick.

Well, I would start by making one for my (almost) 3 year old. Then I would make one for my friend’s 3 year old. And then maybe one for my cousin’s 3 year old. And then, when my 2 month old and my 6 week old niece were walking- I would make them each one too! Thanks for the great giveaway!
