I'm so excited. And you will be, too, if you win this giveaway. September 20, 2011 02:01 28 Comments
The hint of fall in the air has me in such a good mood. It does. In fact, such a good mood I must share. And you, lassies and lads, know what that means. Yep. A giveaway.
Here are the prizes:
Colette patterns Parfait, donated by the lovely, talented and generous Sarai. So sexy. So adorable. The pattern. And Sarai. Absolutely.
Animal print polished cotton to make your Parfait, and make it as wild as an ocelot.
The Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing. Indispensable. Totally.
And, of course, nail polish. Zoya's Veruschka, an emerald with a kiss of blue. Very pretty. Very matte.
To enter, leave a comment letting me know what you'd like to see on The Blue Gardenia Learns to Sow Her Blossoms. For an extra entry, become a blog follower through Typepad — no need to leave another comment, I'll note your name among the followers pictured at the top right of this very page. If you already follow, don't worry, because that earns you an extra entry as well. And that's not all, for one more entry, follow me on Twitter. Whew! I'm tired now that I've typed the fine print. And I still have to exercise! Deadline to enter: September 24, 2011, midnight MST.
Yes, this giveaway — which I do think is fabulous and, naturally, I am not a bit biased — is brought to you by The Blue Gardenia, where the patterns are counted, the jewelry is sparkling, and domestic shipping is free.

The animal print fabric looks lovely! I really like the interview type posts, a great way to discover other sewing blogs and to get to know them!
I’m also following you on twitter(my link is my url)
Samina on May 20, 2015 12:29
My favorite of your features is the sewing spaces one. I get so many great ideas & inspiration (& a few fits of jealousy) from that series. I’d love to see more of those again. I also enjoy seeing what you’re working on & haven’t seen much of that lately.
I follow you via Google Reader, but I don’t think that qualifies for an extra entry :-(
Rachel on May 20, 2015 12:29
I enjoy the posts where you combine patterns with fabrics (like the recent maternity pattern) or accessories. I get stuck at the indecision of what fabric will look good with a given pattern. So I end up just enjoying the pretty pictures. Right now I am really enjoying the idea of an animal print Parfait with a black (or khaki), long-sleeve top underneath for fall.
Holly on May 20, 2015 12:29
What a great giveaway. Perhaps we could peek at people who have bought vintage patterns from you and made them. I love a good follow-up.
Vicki Kate on May 20, 2015 12:29
Pattern and fabric matching is always good – I love seeing other people’s ideas! I love your honesty on your learning too as it gives me confidence to have a go!
Emelie on May 20, 2015 12:29
I really enjoyed those posts about “Channeling” iconic women. Those were really nice.
And tutorials and links to fun stuff are always a safe bet.
Kristin on May 20, 2015 12:29

What a great giveaway! I agree with an earlier commenter, it would be great to see follow-up posts with garments made from the patterns you have sold.
Jane on May 20, 2015 12:29
This is a wonderful giveaway. I loved the peeks into people’s sewing rooms. It would be interesting to get some of your customers to do reviews of the patterns they have purchased from you with photos of the completed garment

What a great giveaway! I’ve been ogling the Parfait for a little while now, so it would be so much fun if I won. Plus, the colour of that nail varnish is absolutely GORGEOUS!
I really like the way you post patterns with suggestions of fabric and accessories, something I’m very bad at visualising by myself, so I find them really useful. And I agree with the others above, it would be so cool to see some finished items from the vintage patterns you sell!
Valerie S. on May 20, 2015 12:29
I agree with Alexandra — I love how you help show styling for some of the garments, and I love your cheerful descriptions. I think it would be fun to see how folks style the garments they make when they wear them in their real world (and any thoughts about sewing them up!).
I’d dearly love to win this prize — what a fun combination of color and patterns too!

You know, I really like what you already post on your blog. But, I suppose I am interested in seeing how you resolve the green muslin making dilemma you posted on earlier. I also would like to see more of your sewn results, but totally understand how sewing can take a while sometimes.
Angie on May 20, 2015 12:29

Without a doubt, you do the best giveaways! I want to see more of your sewing escapades. And more stuff about how to sew vintage patterns (with their strange perforations etc.)

I’d like to have more sewing techniques, like anything related to lining…my current nightmare. Videos would be great.

I love your giveaway! I could do good things with that fabric…. :) Honestly, I love the Catherine Deneuve posts comparing an iconic style to an available vintage pattern for sale. Smart! Inspiring! Love!
