Learning to sew: Here are some thread choices. Whatcha think? October 15, 2011 19:14 13 Comments
Well, dear readers, there's been a slight hitch in my sewing plans. My feet misjudged the steps, and I took a tumble. Ouch ouch ouch. Ouch! I tore some ligaments, and I'll be staying off my left leg the next two weeks. (As much as possible, anyway.) Doctor's orders. And all that.
I did pull some spools of thread today. Which one do you think looks best? Do tell.

The paler green and the paler pink both seem to work well, at least from cyberland. Go with the one that looks best to you, and feel better soon!

I would say the pale green is the best, but you can have a look in reality much better. The pink is my second favourite.
All my best to your foot! It hurts and I have to know it because my son is a soccer player!

Wow – what gorgeous choices! I believe that either the pale green or pale pink will blend best. I would go with the pink, because that’s my bias. (I really don’t sew green things, it occurs to me. How strange…)
I am so sorry to hear about your foot. I broke mine about a year ago and it was very challenging. But two weeks will fly by. Especially if you continue to plan your sewing!

second from left (light turquoise/green?) for sure. I can barley see that thread, but obviously the photo may not be telling the truth ! I love the fabric xx

My first choice would be the pale pink.
I hope you recover quickly from your little foot mishap.

That depends on whether your stitching is to be used as a highlight or simply for construction. The pink or the pale aqua disappear best and either would be a good construction choice. I like the idea of the hot pink for any highlight work—it really pops!

The pale green or the pale pink both seem to work well in the picture but in reality they may look different.
I hope you recover from your leg injury quickly.

Looks like you’ve gotten great advice. I’d go for either of the paler ones for construction, and the hot pink for topstitching maybe. When in doubt, do a few samples and see which you like best.
Hope you leg heals quickly! Ouch!

Looking at the fabric from the other post it seems that pale pink dominates even the background of the design so I would go with the pink.

I’m still with the pale pink.

Pale green or pink!
PascalefromParis on May 20, 2015 12:30
Hi !
For me, it’s the pale green the best choice, in my opinion.
Happy sewing !
